Of course, the heroes managed to wrest the Hourglass from Kronika and attempted to reset the timeline. The antagonist of Mortal Kombat 11, Kronika used her Hourglass to shape the timeline itself, hence how MK characters got to meet their younger counterparts and guests from other realities. The foremost theory is that the sand came from Kronika’s Hourglass. This left the fandom in a flurry of speculation.
